- A double set has been released to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Shinkansen and the 65th anniversary of Plarail. This special set reproduces the 0-series Shinkansen Hikari No. 1, which first opened in 1964, and the Plarail Super Express Hikari, which was the first real train reproduction model to appear in the same year. It also comes with a commemorative ticket with an image of the design from that time.
